I Used To Play That

Jennifer uncomfortably ran her finger along her chin as she watched the guys stretching and throwing. She remembered that ritual all too well. Back before she’d been sent to Aunt Elise’ house, that was.

She still wasn’t really sure what Aunt Elise was—lots of things weren’t too clear nowadays—but she did have fleeting impressions of a court room? Maybe? It was so hard to remember before.

She did remember that she used to play this sport. What was it again……baseball!

Nowadays, of course, she didn’t play baseball. Or softball. She was a cheerleader, of course, because Aunt Elise had been one back in ancient days, but…..
