Alternate Reality

I shifted my weight awkwardly. I was definitely not used to wearing high heels. “Can’t believe you did this me, jackass. When will you change me back?”

Ted held all the power now. Thanks to a lousy sports bet and his recent acquisition of a reality changing device, I had given him permission to do what he wanted with me. I had no idea he’d take it this far.

“Oh, relax, babe. There are worse things than being my girlfriend.”

“But I don’t want to be your girlfriend!” I yelled. “And don’t call me babe.” I crossed my arms, still getting used to having two delicate and sensitive breasts on my chest.

Ted chuckled at that. “You should try calling your mother. See what she has to say about all this.”

“She wouldn’t recognize my voice…”

“Try it.”

I swallowed hard, and reached into my purse to pull out my bow hot pink cell phone. I dialed my mother.

“Kayla, dear, how are you!? You haven’t called in weeks since you started dating Ted. How’s Teddy doing?”

Startled, I hung up immediately. “What the fuck did you do to my mom? ‘Kayla?’”

Ted smiled. “That’s the power of the device. No one remembers Ken. Only you, Kayla. And the world knows we’re dating, so you’d better start acting like it.”

I put my hands on my hips. “Or what? You know I’ll find that device sooner or later and change back.”

“The device doesn’t exist in this reality, Kayla. Or at least, not yours. It still exists in mine. I can still use it.” He made a hand motion like he was holding something, but there was nothing there. “I could still use it to change your mind. I would rather not do that, though. It’s so much hotter to me knowing that Ken is still in that pretty little body, acting like my girlfriend willfully.”

I was helpless. In this reality, Ted was my boyfriend, and I’m a hot young girl. If I didn’t play the part, he’d take my mind away too.

He sensed my hesitation. “How about this. Every time you refuse me something, or don’t act the part, I’ll either take a memory away… or add something in.” He fingered his invisible device.

There was no helping it. “So, then…” I summoned the courage, shifting my weight again and standing as tall as I could in my heels. “What do you want to do first, Teddy?”
