I knew something wasn’t right. I knew it. That freighter was obscenely suspicious yet I did nothing about it absolutely nothing. I didn’t think to move my boat well clear. It cost me.
It was carrying a feminising chemical and they released. I inhaled the toxic substance and inhaled it deeply. It changed my body from top to bottom. I was soon a petite blonde. A female.
Why didn’t I move the boat?
Zack dumped his bike on the driveway to Adam´s house and ran up the path leading to his door. He knocked fervently on the big wooden door until Adam opened up and dragged him in.
“Hey Alice, can we get a picture?!”
“Goodness, why yes of course! Oh how I love photographs *giggle*” I said, beaming and posing in my now routine girly manner. The two guests who approached me, both young men, snapped the pic and then looked at each other and smiled. “Are you two enjoying your time in the magic kingdom?” I cheerfully asked.
Rick was still examining and trying to identify the strange gold coin his roommate Jake had found on the ground. It didn’t look anything like the coins in the US and after googling coins from different countries without finding any matching results, Rick was tired and said he’d take a quick shower.
“What the hell, Genie! This isn’t what I wished for!”
Genie looked surprised when she read the next wish, “Hello genie, I’m Ewaryst and I want to become a succesfull scientist”. This were to be the first time she had transformed someone’s life into the life of a scientist. She even had to look up the word Scientist, “So he is interested in science” she whispered, “but science contradicts magic” she added. Genie then realized what she had to do, “he will be bound to science like he asked, but i’ll have to add a little magic to his life. Wish granted” Genie said and exploded into a cloud of pink smoke.
“Wow David, or I suppose I should say Esmerelda? I can’t believe it’s been a year since my agency granted your wish for a reliable money making skill.”
My trip to the tour the local research laboratory had been a lot more interesting than I’d thought going into it. I’d been picturing a bunch of empty corridors with stressed out researchers gazing at algae under microscopes behind closed doors. Instead, they had a spacious atrium absolutely packed with astonishing projects that I didn’t even think was possible. There was an invisible jet, headphones that wirelessly beamed music straight into your head, and a giant tractor beam elevator straight out of Star Trek. I was blown away by all of it. I was even able to take home some of their defense serum.
This business trip sucked. I had to fly cross country to give a huge presentation to a couple of potential clients and I blew it. Then of course afterwards I had to have an agonizing conversation with my boss over the phone on why I couldn’t sell our product to them. And it isn’t like I had anything to look forward to when I got home, just an empty apartment and a little goldfish.
I hate my therapist. He’s a guy, he’s never gone through second puberty. He thinks I should wear skirts and dresses and tights and makeup and all that crap just to “accept the female me” well fuck that. It wouldn’t be so bad if he hadn’t also convinced my crazy mom. Bye bye gym shorts, hello sports bras.
