The red text moved across the display panel of the machine, telling Tom and Hugo in a language they didn’t understand what they had already learned for themselves: there is no turning back. This is life now.

When they had discovered the alien machine, they had spent hours turning themselves into each other’s sexual fantasies and satisfying themselves in front of the floor length mirror. Neither expected the machine to stop working. But as Tom as Penelope Cruz stepped into the machine and winked at Hugo, ready to become Kate Upton for him, a red light began to flash.

The boys panicked and began to mash buttons to no avail. The machine was broken. Tom turned to his friend and fell into his arms. They caressed before locking eyes. The text continued to scroll as their lips met. It wasn’t an answer but it felt so right.
