The Kiss

“That’s a cute look. Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Are you kidding me? I think this has gone too far, Alex. I was only supposed to be your ‘pretend girlfriend’ for a month to impress your parents. Why are we suddenly getting married?”

“I wanted to really put on a good show! Besides, you look gorgeous in that dress, Karl.” Alex smirked.

“I never should have agreed to this. Why did I agree to it in the first place? Ever since you found that magic book this has been nothing but trouble. When will you change me back?”

“You are asking a lot of questions. Here’s the plan, if you and I get married my parents have already told me they are going to gift us their old house. So, we get hitched, live in the house together for a while, and then after a few months we get in some big fight, divorce, and then I’ll change you back. I get to keep the house, you get free rent and a hot bod for a while, win-win.”

“I don’t see how this is a win for anyone but you. I’m also not excited about the kiss-the-bride part of this. I did NOT sign up for this.”

“Maybe there’s something I can do to help you with that.” Alex pulled out the book and started flipping through the pages.

“What? Wait… no. You don’t have to do that, I don’t want you to…” Karl started getting uncomfortable.

“Nah don’t worry about it! Here, it goes like this…” He started reading from the book, but it all sounded like gibberish to Karl.

Suddenly, Karl felt light-headed. “No… I told you… to stop…” The room kept spinning around him. “What are you doing…”

The dizzy girl braced herself against a chair to keep from falling over. “What did you do to me, Alex?”

“Nothing honey, just read some words from this book to help clear your pretty head for a while. How do you feel, Katrina?”

“I feel… okay. Hazy, though. I think I’ll be okay for the ceremony.” She gathered herself and walked up to Alex, looking up into his dreamy eyes. “In fact, I think I feel *very* ready for the ceremony.” She wrapped her arms around Alex and leaned up into him, kissing him lovingly. He returned the kiss gladly.

“I’m ready for what comes *after* the ceremony, too.” She flashed a wicked smile at her soon-to-be husband. Katrina knew he could never resist her feminine wiles, and couldn’t wait to show her man what she was made of.
